Twenty pairs, one with a question and one with the matching answer, accompanied by the same illustration.

This game includes sentences with the verb to be in the Present Simple and Past Simple. Each pair consists of a question and the answer is either positive or negative.

For example:
How is your holiday?

Our holiday is great!

Were Dad and Tom at home?
No, they weren’t. they were out.

It can be played in various ways, depends on the size of the group and the goals of the teacher. It can be mixed with cards from “asking right 1” and “asking right 2”, to show the contrast between be and the other verbs.
